Symmetry

We've been working on symmetry this week.

We came up with some interesting designs.

We worked as teams to come up with a mirror image around a rod.

We painted some symmetrical pictures to reinforce the math concept.

In math this week we have been working on symmetry.  We have identified symmetrical objects, created our own designs and painted symmetrical pictures.  Math can be fun and can be integrated into many different areas of study.  This week, math and art went hand in hand in the Ladybug room.

This was an exercise in teamwork.

We invited a couple of Serpents to come in and help us build this structure.  It was tricker than it looks.

 This week was all about swim lessons!  They are lots of fun and everyone is having a good time.  That's not all we've been doing, we're working on symmetry and learning about the planets.

It was all fun in the end!

This was so much fun!!   Even though we were a little nervous to start, everyone had a good time!  We can't wait to do it again!

Back at School!

We're back in business!

We were so glad to see each other.

We still remember our math games, today we played them with lots of giggles!

Pirate Day at Seabury!

Is it just me or did it seem like every one of our Ladybugs grew several inches over break?  The kids rushed in on Monday with so much to say!  It was fun being back together getting down to the business of prekindergarten!

Friday was Pirate Day at Seabury.  We had many big and little pirates running all over campus having a good time together.  The kids drew treasure maps, made their own snack, and designed their own pirate flag.
