We love the beach!

We have some amazing builders in our class.
This week there was measuring to be done,

a play to see,
a printer to take apart,
the pledge of allegiance to lead,
and a presentation to make.
The Early Learning kids have been learning about the animals of Australia.
Today we shared what we have learned with the rest
of the school.

We finished up the week with a visit to the beach  to
check out the minus tide.

We even took some friends with us!
It would be hard to fit anything else into our week!  Still lots to do before the end of the school year.

Busy times!

Lots happening in the Ladybug room this week!  We're continuing our study of Australian animals; this week we added snakes, animals of the Great Barrier reef and wombats to our books. We worked on skip counting, geometric shapes, color mixing and masking with our mentors and visited the Tacoma Glass Museum.  We even managed to fit in some time in the sandbox.  It was a good week!

Yay! Back at school!

We had a quick break in the rain, time to get in a couple of laps
towards our toe tokens!
This week's challenge:  Using binder clips, tongue depressors and clothespins build a structure that can hold weight (the record this week was 16 unit blocks), creates a domino effect or one that can stand upright.  We ran into a couple of problems-not enough clothespins and who knew they came in different lengths?  All in all a successful engineering project.  We're happy to be back at school after spring break and keeping our fingers crossed for a let up in the rainy weather.
